Nogomet

Nogomet, known as football (or soccer) in many parts of the world, refers to a team sport played between two teams of eleven players each. The objective of the game is to score goals by getting a spherical ball into the opposing team’s net primarily using feet, though players can use their bodies except for the hands and arms (goalkeepers excepted). It is governed by a set of rules called the Laws of the Game, maintained by the International Football Association Board (IFAB). The term “nogomet” is derived from the Croatian and other Slavic languages, and it encompasses the popular and widely played sport, emphasizing aspects such as teamwork, strategy, and physical fitness. The sport is organized at various levels, from local amateur clubs to professional leagues, and is a major part of global sporting culture, culminating in international competitions like the FIFA World Cup.
